Administering Secure eMail

Features > Key features

SMTP features:

We've added a number of new features which should make it easier for organisation administrators with SMTP accounts to perform their functions and help to keep the Secure eMail service safe, secure and efficient.

Single Sign-on:

The days of having a separate password as an organisation administrator and another as a user are over. Now, one single password is all you’ll need to login, and do whatever you need to do.

Assign Organisation Administrator

If you are the initial (primary) organisation administrator, you can give administration rights to other members of your organisation, so that they can perform most organisation administrator functions. This will help you to manage your account on a day to day basis, or when you are out of the office for whatever reason. These rights can be revoked later, if necessary.

Create sub organisations

If you are one of those organisation administrators who are managing the accounts for a parent organisation and also for their subsidiaries, you will now be able to create a 'sub-organisation' of users. You will then have the option to manage the sub organisation yourself, or nominate someone else - possibly someone who works in the sub organisation - to manage it in your stead.

Webmail features:

Manage my users

As an organisation administrator, you will be able to access a section of the site called 'Manage My Users'. Clicking on this option in the menu will show you the users from any organisation whose account you are responsible for, and also their status (such as whether they are active, suspended or in the process of being deleted).

From this page, you will then be able to carry out the following actions:

  • Suspend users
  • Unsuspend users
  • Delete users
  • Undelete users
  • Unlock users' accounts
  • Change users' mailbox quotas
